The Most Environmentally Friendly Insulation
At one time, spray foam had a reputation as being bad for the environment to the presence of greenhouse gasses within the blowing agent used in the installation process. We are excited to share with our customers that this in no longer true. In fact, spray foam is now among the one the most environmentally friendly choices of insulation available.
This due in part to the reformulation of the foam and its propellant to no longer contain greenhouse gasses, and therefor no longer contribute to global warming. We use Foam-Lok 2000-4G foam which is the first of its kind in the fight against climate change, and has been shown to emit 99.9% fewer greenhouse gasses when compared to other types of polyurethane spray foam. To further reduce environmental impacts, this variety of spray foam contains 85% recycled materials.
In addition, spray foam is intended to last the lifetime of the structure in which it is installed, which reduces the amount of insulation that ends up in landfills. This is in contrast to other insulation types which need to be replaced every 10-20 years.
